2.2 BROADCAST AND FACTORY-LOADED ADDRESSES

The Datalogic base stations have a factory-loaded address (2000) to be changed

in the range 0-1999, since the network is only activated when all base station

addresses are within this range of values.

The broadcast address (2047) can be sent to a base station through the PC serial

interface. This address is very useful to get the configuration and all information

provided by the Alive, GetConfiguration, GetStatus and SetConfiguration Method

from a base station having an unknown address.

CAUTION

When requesting a base station configuration by using a broadcast

address, only one base station must be connected within the

network.

2.3 RF DEVICE ADDRESS

For correct functioning, all the RF devices of STAR-System™ must be inserted in the

Device Collection before starting the network data collection. Each RF device

transmits its PID, RFMaxProtocolVersion and RFMinProtocolVersion correct values

during its registration

, since these properties are automatically set to 0 at network

initialization.
